COVID changed the world & economy forever. It sickens me to hear stories of businesses that genuinely needed the PPP, EIDL, and/or ERC (employee retention credit) and didn't receive it do to erroneous advice, laggard advice, or incomplete advice. The COVID pandemic is when CPAs / tax professionals needed to step-up and learn the new laws promulgated by Congress, and we saw this importance at Darian Accounting: we helped as many businesses & individuals as we could, while learning & teaching & most importantly, updating them as to changes that apply to them.
It was a new campaign, with new laws, and new rules, but it was the prudent, forward-looking accountant who saw it as their duty, as a trusted advisor, to LEARN, RELAY & EDUCATE their clients on these matters to help ensure they are taken care of and tax advantaged.
